BIT, Mesra, is located at a distance of about 15km from Ranchi on NH-33, on the way to Patna via Hazaribag and Gaya. Taxi services are easily available at the Airport, Railway station which are about 30 and 17km from the Institute, respectively. Ranchi is the capital of newly created Jharkhand state. At an altitude of 2200 ft, once the summer capital of undivided Bihar and a hill  resort, is today an important industrial city. Ranchi is well connected to all major cities by air, rail and road. Daily flights are available from / to Delhi, Calcutta, Patna, Lucknow, etc. Ranchi  normally has a comfortable weather during first half of December. The average temprature being about 15°C during December. However, the particpants are advised to bring warm clothes.
